Introduction

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Communications Posse, Inc. was formed in 1994, and filed articles of incorporation with the Arizona Corporation Commission as a non-profit organization on May 23, 1995. The call sign of the Communications Posse is K7MCS (Maricopa County Sheriff). The purpose of the Communications Posse is "to assist and cooperate with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office in the maintenance of peace, law, and order within the County of Maricopa, State of Arizona, at any time and in any manner as and when requested to do so."

Tuesday nights, 8 p.m., 448.825 repeater (PL 100.0 Hz)

Monthly meeting

Third Wednesday of each month (except December), 6:30 p.m., 3325 West Durango Street in Phoenix at the Enforcement Support building. Visitors are always welcome.

Dues

$15.00 per year

Membership

100% Amateur Radio Operators (or become licensed within one year)

Other Membership Requirements

Minimum 18 years of age

No felony convictions

No drug-related convictions

No misdemeanor convictions within 3 years

Minimum Equipment Purchase Requirements

MCSO "Golf Shirt" (about $30.00)

Minimum Training Requirements

Emergency First Care - 8 hours

Law and Legal - 16 hours

CPR - 8 hours

Basic Traffic - 8 hours

Bloodborne Pathogens - 2 hours annually

(participants are never charged a fee for any training classes)
